“Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
This is my weight-loss journal, my second one actually. The old one I've not updated in quite a while and it felt weird to go back there. It's a new year and of course it's time to start over (again!).
I'm 26, a registered nurse, and happily married to a great man. We have a handful of animals, though hopefully we'll add a baby to the mix in the not-too-distant future. While my long-term goal over the next several years is to lose at least 120 pounds, my short-term goal is to lose at least another 30 before getting pregnant. I'm pretty liberal and I'm into organic food and saving the earth and whatnot. Planning on using cloth diapers if that says anything! :)
A few years ago I did really well and lost almost 70 pounds counting calories, then I moved, and then started nursing school and gained about 90 over the course of about 3 years. Yikes!! During school I became severely addicted to Coke Zero. I quit cold turkey at the end of March, 2008 and have been artificial sweetener-free since then. So my diet is a pretty healthy one. I try to limit processed foods as much as I can, I don't drink any soda, I don't eat anything with high fructose corn syrup, I eat a lot of fruit and try to cram some veggies in too. No 100-calorie packs here. When I eat well, I feel great. I concentrate on real food because after an insane number of years of restrictive diets I've realized that I cannot sustain them long-term.
